Sandwich University began when the founder noticed the incredible demand for late night food around Rutgers University. Growing up in and around the famous " Grease Trucks" George knew the concept would be a hit anywhere it opened. In 2004, the "Fat Darrell®" was named #1 sandwich in America by Maxim Magazine. This was the icing on the cake and George knew the time was now to sell his landscaping company of 5 years and move into the restaurant business. After successfully opening 2 locations in State College PA in 2005, a third was opened in Morgantown WV in 2006. He decided to move his efforts to Morgantown and focus on franchising and retooling the system. The rest is history and the time is now invest in a concept that is simple and belongs on every campus in America and beyond.

We ARE the Kings of the Fat Sandwich®, offering a wide selection of classic sandwiches that is amazing any time of the day. It is a sandwich like no other that you have had. Our unique sandwich offerings, combined with the college attitude and atmosphere, have led others to try and copy what we do. But no one has been able to duplicate the Kings of the Fat Sandwich®.
